- His Majesty King Juan Carlos visited in Granada the pioneering
biotechnology centre in the research and development of functional
foods within Europe.
- PULEVA Biotech has developed the necessary technical know-how with
which to produce functional foods that contain Eupoly Omega 3®,
an oil rich in Omega 3 (
Epa-Dha)
with pysiologically active levels. With a current annual production
of 500.000 kilos and exports representing 40%, the
biotechnology centre has become the world leader in the
commercialisation of LC-Omega 3 for functional foods.

cardiovascular risk factors have been scientifically proven, has become
the most widely consumed functional food enriched with Omega-3 fatty
acids in the world, with more than 500 million litres sold.

the PULEVA Biotech research centre, on the 10th anniversary of
the development of PULEVA Omega 3. The company, dedicated to the
research, development and commercialisation of new products based on
natural ingredients with beneficial effects upon health, has become the
main producer worldwide of LC-Omega 3 fatty acids, with an annual
production of 500.000 kilos and exports of 40% to all continents.

contributing to the prevention of cardiovascular risk factors
According to data from the World Health Organisation (WHO),
cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in the world, with
the main risk factors being high levels of cholesterol, high blood
pressure, obesity, smoking, diabetes, hereditary factors and little or
no regular physical exercise.
The daily consumption of long chain Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty
acids, as part of a healthy lifestyle, helps to maintain good
cardiovascular health and reduces the risk of suffering from
cardiovascular diseases, according to data from the North American Food
and Drugs Agency (FDA). PULEVA Omega 3, developed by PULEVA Biotech,
has spent 10 years contributing to the prevention of cardiovascular
risk factors. This milk drink is enriched with
Omega-3 fatty acids and has been scientifically proven through 8
clinical trials carried out with the product - 3 with healthy
individuals and 5 with patients with cardiovascular
diseases– which showed that the daily consumption
of 500
ml
of PULEVA Omega 3 has a beneficial effect upon 5 cardiovascular risk
factors, amongst them, total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol, the
reduction of high levels of triglycerides and a reduction in levels of
