PULEVA, AWARDED THE "FLAG" OF
ANDALUCÍA FOR ITS CONTRIBUTION TO THE REGION
The deputation of the Regional Government in Granada has awarded this
recognition to the dairy company for being one of the most
well-established companies in Granada and a company which broadcasts
the name of the province outside its borders.

21st of February, 2008.The
director general of
PULEVA,
Gregorio Jiménez, this morning collected, in the Caja
Granada auditorium, the traditionl
“flag”
of Andalucía, on
the occasion of the celebration of Andalucia Day.
The award was granted by the Junta (Regional Government) in recognition
of the work and
commitment of PULEVA with Granada as one of the most deeply-rooted
companies in the province and one which most diffuses its name outside
of provincial borders. In addition, the trajectory of PULEVA has been
outstanding, as it has managed to become, since its beginnings some 50
years ago, a leading company within
the Spanish dairy industry.
When awarding the "flag" of Andalucia to PULEVA, special mention was
made of the visit of HM The King to the PULEVA Biotech research centre
on 12th February last, to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the
development of PULEVA Omega 3, the most widely consumed functional food
enriched with Omega-3 fatty acids in the world.

For Gregorio Jiménez, this
award represents “recognition for all the efforts
and the hard work of an excellent team, who with their knowledge,
efforts and enthusiasm have enabled PULEVA to position itself as one of
the leading dairy companies within the sector.” At
the same time, the director general of PULEVA added that “it
is an honour for the company to be awarded the "flag" of Andalucia, as
its whole trajectory has been very deeply rooted in the region and,
specifically, in Granada”.
The Port of Motril, the Agreement for Social Consensus, the CajaGranada
Table Tennis Club, the Virgen de las Nieves Institute, Blanca Li, are
some of the other 16 award-winners who also received the flag bestowed
by the Regional Government in Granada to those individuals, companies
and institutions that have been outstanding over the last year in terms
of their work and their contribution to both Andalucia and Granada.
