PULEVA MAX PROMOTES INTELLIGENT NUTRITION IN THE REGIONAL PHASE OF THE XXVI THALES MATHEMATICS OLYMPIAD
From 4th to 8th of May the regional phase of the XXVI Thales Mathematics Olympiad will be held in Granada, organised by the Sociedad Andaluza de Educación Matemática Thales (Andalucian Society of Thales Mathematical Education) and sponsored by PULEVA, in which the second year GCSE students who won in the provincial phase will take part.
PULEVA continues, for the second year, to back this initiative and will provide a healthy breakfast, prior to the start of the tests, reinforcing its commitment to promote healthy habits amongst young people in Andalucia.

The five first places in each province of Andalucía and two invited participants from Melilla take part in the regional phase, which this year takes place in the province of Granada, in the Granada youth hostel, in calle Ramón y Cajal number 2. The six first places in this regional phase will attend the National Olympiad, organised by the Federación de Sociedades de Profesores de Matemáticas (Federation of Societies of Mathematics Professors), which will be held in Palma de Mallorca from the 24th to 28th of June. In the provincial phase of this activity, aimed at second year GCSE students, more than 3.000 boys and girls throughout the whole of Andalucia took part.
All the participants who attend to undertake the theory-practical tests will receive a healthy breakfast consisting of a piece of fruit, a slice of bread with extra virgin olive oil and a 200ml brick of Puleva Max® Chocolate with Cereals, a milk product enriched with DHA omega 3 fatty acids which improves parameters relating to the cognitive development in children between the ages of 8 to 14 (extract from the summary of the study ““Max DHA” carried out by Puleva Biotech and available at www.puleva.es).

In so doing, we seek to change the habitual perception of this on the part of students as something boring to that of a stimulating challenge which provides the adventure of enjoying food, taking part in activities that promote creativity, decision-making capacities and the ability to confront new situations and to resolve mathematical problems.
In addition, this activity favours the participation of parents, students and teachers in activities complementary to the work carried out in the classroom, whilst at the same time contributing to the diffusion of recreational and creative aspects, values that PULEVA has historically supported with its sponsorship.
